Armed DUI Suspect Arrested In San Rafael: Police
Police allege an intoxicated driver had a gun in his waistband and dozens of rounds of ammunition in the car.
SAN RAFAEL, CA — A man arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in San Rafael was carrying an unregistered handgun, ammunition and a large amount of marijuana, according to police.
Investigators said a K-9 unit spotted a vehicle speeding down Bellam Boulevard early Saturday morning. The officer stopped the car and determined the driver was intoxicated. Police said further investigation revealed the man had a loaded, unserialized handgun in his waistband.
Officers searched the vehicle and found approximately 70 rounds of ammunition and two pounds of marijuana, police said.

The suspect was booked into jail on suspicion of carrying a concealed and loaded gun, driving under the influence, and possession of marijuana for distribution.
