SAN RAFAEL, CA — The Marin County Fair will celebrate all things creepy and crawly next summer as it kicks off an 82nd year with a new manager at the helm.

The county unveiled next year's "BUG-TASTIC!" theme Monday, promising the "ultimate bugfest," including family-friendly activities centered around insects, spiders, scorpions, centipedes, millipedes, and more.

Plenty of fan favorites are set to return, including juried arts and photography exhibits, concerts, carnival rides, and pig races.

According to the county, the five-day community event draws 100,000 revelers each year and has won the prestigious Merrill Award six times. Jennifer Olvera will take the reins as manager, bringing 15 years of fair production experience, including eight as event coordinator for the Orange County Fair. Since 2023, Olvera has served as the event rental manager for the Marin County Department of Cultural Services.

"I am extremely excited to take on the role of fair manager of this beloved county event and to continue the great spirit of the fair for generations to come," Olvera said in a statement. "From competitive exhibits to barnyard activities, and from community performances to headline concerts, our fair has something for everyone. I look forward to growing the programming and engaging even more community members."

The fair is scheduled to take place July 2 - 6, 2025. More details on the exhibitions, concert lineups and tickets will be shared in the coming months.
