How To Receive A Grant For Making Art In Marin

As part of Arts, Culture and Creativity Month in Marin, applications are now open to artists seeking financial backing.

MARIN COUNTY, CA — Grants totaling $100,000 are available through the Marin Cultural Association, and the deadline to apply is April 30.

The MCA debuted its new annual granting program that will award established artists over the age of 18 or studio collectives who either live or work in Marin up to $5,000 to those selected. Up to $10,000 is available to arts-based nonprofits.

The application is due April 30 and the awards will be announced May 30.

“MCA is dedicated to supporting Marin’s artistic community, and we encourage emerging and established artists as well as arts organizations large and small to apply,” said Tracy Bays-Boothe, MCA Managing Director.

In 2023, the Marin County Boards of Supervisors passed a resolution to designate April as Arts Month.

Marin County ranked third as the top artist community in the U.S., according to SMU Data Arts, a research center focused on arts.
