Prolific Bike Thieves Caught In Marin County: Police
One thief has been charged with 15 felony theft counts, prosecutors said.
MARIN COUNTY, CA — Two San Rafael residents have been accused of stealing many "higher end electric bicycles" in Ross Valley recently, police said on Wednesday.
Marin County Sheriff's Office deputies said they had identified two suspects, Francisco Lugo-Garcia, 37, and Alexis DeLeon-Diaz, 34, both of San Rafael.
Both men had been arrested numerous times for bike theft and drug possession, police said.

In September, DeLeon-Diaz was arrested for a bike theft and failed to appear in court on Oct. 3, police said.
The Marin County District Attorney's Office issued a 21-count indictment of DeLeon-Diaz, including 15 felony theft.

Sheriff’s deputies said they arrested DeLeon-Diaz on Tuesday when he appeared in court. He is currently being held in the Marin County Jail without bail pending court proceedings, police said.
Lugo-Garcia failed to appear in court as well on Oct. 3. stemming from an August arrest for attempted burglary of a garage.
Police arrested Lugo-Garcia later that same day on a bench warrant for failing to appear.
At the time of his arrest, he was riding an electric bike that was recently stolen from a garage in Kentfield, police said.
That bike was returned to its owner.
Lugo-Garcia is currently in Jail being held without bail pending court proceedings.
He is facing multiple felony theft allegations.
