Tell us about your business and its history in your town.

The Magic Flute has been serving Marin County musicians of all ages for over 40 years. We rent band and orchestra instruments for school music programs, often serving the second or third generation of young players in a family. Our complete selection of guitars, ukes, drums, brass and woodwind instruments, sheet music and accessories supports intermediate and professional players alike.

How has the new coronavirus impacted your business and its employees?

We have furloughed 90 percent of sales staff and have closed our doors to shoppers. However, we are maintaining our website, taking orders over the phone for pickup of free local delivery. We are also still taking in instruments for service and repair.


How can local customers support you now and in the future?

Keep playing music! Buy locally whenever possible. Call us today if we can help you keep playing, then visit when we're open again.


Do you have any words of encouragement for your community?

Hang tough, we will get through this together as a community.


Are you offering any special services, promotions or hours during this time?

We offering free local delivery or curbside pickup of phone in orders.
