San Rafael Star Student Athlete Excels In Lacrosse

SAN RAFAEL, CA — We all know student athletes who also bring their A-game to other parts of their lives.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. We’re working to let all your neighbors know the individual stories behind the leaderboard.

Why do you believe the star student athlete should be recognized?

Danica has been a natural athlete all her life, participating, competing and excelling in many different sports through her 17 years of life. She is presently a D1 recruit to Georgetown University for lacrosse, but she also is now competing in tennis and soccer as well. Danica used to also participate in competitive equestrian, earning a spot in the national championship. She also competed in track, and never lost a race. Danica’s other sports include skiing, surfing, volleyball, swimming and yoga. At present, Danica is earning money as an assistant coach for a local girl’s lacrosse club (coaching the U14s), as well as giving private lacrosse lessons to young girls on the side. Danica is a kind, friendly, generous spirit, and a supportive and loyal friend. I know I’m biased, but I have so many people approach me to tell me what a lovely and wonderful daughter I have and what a great teammate she is. It makes me very proud, and it’s why I think Danica would make an excellent candidate for this esteemed recognition.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star student athlete?

She cares very much that the people around her succeed and excel to their abilities, and she’ll do what she can to help them do that.
