AT&T Donates $10,000 to East Bay Stand Down

East Bay Stands Down assists homeless veterans and will hold a planning meeting for its event in September at the Danville Veterans Memorial Building tonight at 6 p.m.

East Bay Stand Down, an organization dedicated to helping homeless veterans, recently recieved a $10,000 donation from AT&T to help support EBSD.

Ken Mintz, a board member and area manager with AT&T, presented the check that will be used for EBSD's event that will take place at the  Sept. 13-16.

The 24-hour, four-day event will help needy veterans examine avenues of assistance.

"We help to place the participants into residential programs, offer employment, and to provide follow-up programs of various types," EBSD says on its website. "During recent East Bay Stand Downs, we have 'bumped it up a notch' by providing more services and higher quality services."

An information and planning meeting about the event will take place at the  tonight at 6 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
