Dougherty Station Community Arts Center Opens Monday

SAN RAMON, CA — After extensive renovations, the Dougherty Station Community Arts Center is opening Monday. The community is invited to a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony at 4:30 p.m., followed by an open house from 5-7 that will feature art, dance, and music demonstrations, opportunities to meet the instructors and artists, and time to tour the art studios, gallery, classrooms, and dance studio.

The updated facility at 17011 Bollinger Canyon Road aims to be a hub of arts and culture in San Ramon, and will offer arts classes, programs, workshops, and performances. The new space includes a number of new creative spaces, including an expanded dance studio, green room, expanded art gallery, six private artist studios, two soundproof sound studios, two community rooms, and a music room.

The goal of the new facility is to provide more affordable arts programs, a wider range of arts-related courses and programming, rental artist studio spaces, and to give artists additional opportunities to perform, exhibit and sell goods. The facility will host open mic nights, drop-in art classes, and will be available for facility reservations.
