Honor Memorial Day In San Ramon

SAN RAMON, CA — The San Ramon community is invited to honor fallen service members at Memorial Park with a special ceremony on May 30.

A welcome starts at 9:30 a.m. followed by a presentation of colors by the Vietnam Veterans of Diablo Valley, the national anthem, pledge of allegiance and a moment of silence, the city said.

“The schedule includes patriotic music, commemorative speeches, and special presentations,” the city said.

Memorial Day honors men and women of the military who died in service and was recognized as a holiday in 1971.

All city officers will be closed in observance of the holiday on the 30th.

In San Ramon and across the state, the U.S. Postal Service will not deliver on Memorial Day. UPS will not deliver or pick up on Monday. FedEx services will also likely be closed.

Restaurants and grocery stores will likely remain open to accommodate Californians who have the day off.
