International Space Station Visible Tonight in Bay Area Skies
Let's face it, for some of us, this is the closest we'll get to this space station. So, check it out -- but you only have 20 seconds to see it.
Stargazers and space enthusiasts could have a chance to see the International Space Station in the skies above San Ramon tonight.
Weather permitting, the space station will be visible in the northwest sky at 7:32 p.m. It will look like a bright star moving more slowly than an airplane, according to NASA Ames Research Center.
The space station, which is about 220 miles above the earth's surface, will be visible for about 20 seconds before it sets in the northwest horizon.

There will be another chance to see the space station at approximately 7:17 p.m. on Thursday, according to NASA Ames. On that day, the station will appear from the west and set in the southeast.
NASA has an iPhone app that tracks the current position of the space station and helps viewers locate it and other spacecraft orbiting earth.
