Lyle Lovett To Perform In San Ramon

SAN RAMON, CA — Tickets are now on sale to see Grammy Award-winning country superstar Lyle Lovett, who will perform with his Acoustic Group at the Dougherty Valley Performing Arts Center on March 17 at 7 pm.

Lovett is a Texan singer-songwriter who has performed alternative country, folk, bluegrass, gospel, blues, jazz, and more since 1980. Lyle Lovett and his Acoustic Group have performed together since 1994, though he sometimes tours solo or with his “Large Band.”

He has recorded 13 albums, and released 25 singles to date, and has won four Grammy Awards, including Best Male Country Vocal Performance and Best Country Album. He has also received the Americana Music Association’s Trailblazer Award, and was named Texas State Musician.

Lovett has also acted in a number of films, including “Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story”, “The Player,” “Short Cuts,” and “Prêt-à-Porter.” He began dating Julia Roberts on the set of “The Player,” and they eloped three weeks later in June 1993. They divorced in March 1995.
