Minor Crash Shuts Down I-680 When Driver Claims He's Armed
After about a half hour, the man got out of his car when San Ramon police arrived with an armored rescue vehicle.
SAN RAMON, CA — A minor collision between two cars shut down part of Interstate Highway 680 in San Ramon on Saturday when one of the drivers claimed to be armed, the California Highway Patrol said.
When firefighters went to the aid of the man driving a 2012 Mini Cooper, he barricaded himself in the car and said he had a gun, Officer Tyler Hahn said.
As a precaution, the southbound lanes of the highway and San Ramon Valley Boulevard were closed near Bollinger Canyon Road.
