SAN RAMON, CA — Bassant Abdelrahman, the current assistant principal at Dougherty Valley High School, will take over as the new principal of Quail Run Elementary School starting July 1, SRVUSD Superintendent John Malloy announced. Another DVHS assistant principal, Jessica Wigginton, is taking over as the principal of Creekside Elementary School in Danville at the same time.

Abdelrahman is originally a pharmacist who was then a science teacher in Texas. She then came to San Carlos, where she was a science teacher and then vice principal at Central Middle School. Abdelrahman has a bachelors in pharmacy from Misr International University and a master’s in educational leadership from the American College of Education.

“As a leader, Ms. Abdelrahman believes in collaboration and partnership with staff, families and students. She will embrace all the wonderful attributes that make Quail Run a unique and vibrant school community and build upon them to ensure that all feel welcome and accepted and that students are provided exemplary learning experiences,” Malloy said in an email to families.
