New San Ramon Eatery Sets Tentative Opening Date
A popular Mediterranean restaurant that opened on the Embarcadero last year is set to expand to San Ramon in the coming weeks.
SAN RAMON, CA — An East Bay outpost of a popular Mediterranean restaurant on the Embarcadero in San Francisco could open its doors as soon as this month.
According to the Bay Area Telegraph, the team behind Alora has penciled in Jan. 25 as the tentative opening date for a new restaurant at Bishop Ranch.
As Eater San Francisco reports, Alora arrived on the Embarcadero on the same date last year, marking the first foray into Mediterranean-inspired eats from Vikram and Anu Bhambri, the couple behind several beloved Indian restaurants, including ROOH, Pippal and Fitoor.

Alora's winter menu pulls inspiration from several Mediterranean sources, featuring za'atar flatbreads, Turkish lavash, Octopus souvlaki and steelhead trout cured with beetroot and sumac.
According to the Telegraph, the restaurant's San Ramon location promises a similar menu of sharable plates and creative cocktails inside an intimate dining space, with plans to open an outdoor patio in the spring.
