San Ramon Accepting Culture In The Community Celebration Applications

The city's popular multicultural festival is accepting applications until early November for cultural performances and booths.

SAN RAMON, CA — Applications are available for San Ramon's Culture in the Community Celebration, an annual festival celebrating the city's commitment to multiculturalism.

The free festival will take place on Sunday, Feb. 1 from 12-4 at the Dougherty Station Community Arts Center. Guests will enjoy a "staycation to the wonderfully diverse world in our own backyard" that includes:

  • Multicultural performances on two stages
  • Cultural booths from around the world
  • Cultural workshops on art, music and dance
  • Children's crafts, games, and activities

In the past, the festival has attracted up to 1,200 people and featured performances ranging from Chinese King Fu to Argentine tango dancing. Attendees are encouraged to wear attire representing their country of origin or heritage.

The deadline to submit applications to participate is Nov. 2. See here for the application to perform, and here for the application to host a cultural booth. The festival is not accepting nonprofit or business booths this year.
