San Ramon College Student Killed On Santa Cruz Beach: Reports
Authorities have confirmed that 21-year-old Zainab Mansoor was found strangled to death. Her boyfriend has been charged with homicide.
SAN RAMON, CA — The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office has identified the 21-year-old woman strangled to death at Seabright State Beach on Feb. 23 as a San Ramon resident, according to numerous reports.
Zainab Mansoor was a student at UC Santa Cruz. She was found unconscious at Seabright Beach after her boyfriend called 911 to report that he was “somehow involved” in a homicide, a Santa Cruz officer told KSBW. She was taken to Dominican Hospital and put on life support before succumbing to her injuries.
Former UC Santa Cruz student Samuel Stone, 20, was arrested, charged with homicide, and booked into Santa Cruz County Jail with no bail. He is due to be arraigned March 13. Police said that Stone and Mansoor were dating. Detective filings also say that Stone was "unhoused and suffers from mental health issues," according to a Mercury News report.
