Drivers Ram Police Cars, Injure Officer, Set Off Late-Night Chase: Report

Car with four suspects ram police on a stake-out, leaving neighbors rattled.

Two men suspected in a car-theft crew are still at large after a police chase that ended after suspects rammed patrol cars and a fire hydrant then fled into an apartment complex.

The incident began about 11 p.m. Monday.

Officers were surveilling the men suspected in a vehicle theft outside an apartment complex on Ivy Hill Road, police said.

When officers tried to pull over the men in a suspected stolen vehicle, the driver fled, ramming at least four police vehicles, police said.

Police chased the vehicle, which then crashed into a fire hydrant.

The four men fled from the vehicle on foot into an apartment complex, where a man watching TV heard the crash.

He told KTVU that he looked outside and saw the water from a fire hydrant "blasting in the air."

Police arrested Anthony Parsons, 24, of Oakley and Rafael Gonzalez, 20, of Antioch.

Police identified Parsons as the driver of the vehicle, according to reports.

Police are still searching for two more suspects.

An injured officer was treated at a local hospital and released.
