SAN RAMON, CA — In a special meeting Tuesday, the San Ramon City Council will review a User Fee Study and a thorough report on the cost of city services created by the Matrix Consulting Group. The report aims to create an updated understanding of current service levels, and the maximum justifiable cost for those services.

For the 2023-24 year year, San Ramon is spending $7.2 million in services, but only recovering $5.7 million in revenue, according to a city staff report. The Building and Safety Department posts the largest dollar value deficit at $1.2 million, while lower deficits are also expected for Planning and Public Works. The city is hoping to charge 100 percent full cost recovery to recoup some of the money it spends.

The meeting is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at San Ramon City Hall, or streamed on the City of San Ramon YouTube channel.
