San Ramon Police Candidates Wall Climb Their Way to Sucess
Thirty-four recruits sprinted their way through the physical fitness portion of the hiring process this past weekend.

SAN RAMON, CA- Dozens of San Ramon law enforcement hopefuls proved their ability this past weekend, sprinting, wall climbing and dummy dragging their way to POST certifications.
San Ramon Police Department officials provided the community with a little insight on how police academy recruits are tested, showing off photos of the process.
“Yesterday we held the physical fitness testing for police officer recruits,” officials said in a Facebook post, “Each of the 34 participants were required to complete numerous physical fitness events.”

Testing included dragging a weighted dummy, an obstacle course, a six-foot wall climb and sprint, 500-yard sprint, and a 1.5-mile run.
Each event was then scored based on the candidate's time for each category. Each recruit needed to meet the California Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) standards in order to move forward in the hiring process.
