SAN RAMON, CA – Busy Buzzy Bots, a San Ramon-based nonprofit organization dedicated to making STEM education accessible to underserved communities, is the only team to have participated from the city in this year’s Bay Area Maker Faire, inspiring over 1,000 children during the event.
Founded by Saahithi Madhuvarsu, a sophomore at Dougherty Valley High School, and Saaketh Madhuvarsu, a 7th grader at Gale Ranch Middle School, Busy Buzzy Bots began with a simple mission: to bring engaging, hands-on STEAM learning to children who might not otherwise have access to it. What started as a local effort to inspire curiosity in science and technology has since grown into a nonprofit that has positively influenced over 4,000 children.

Over the years, Busy Buzzy Bots has developed and distributed DIY STEAM kits that teach children essential science and engineering skills through fun and creative projects. From building small robots to experimenting with electric circuits, these kits are designed to spark curiosity, problem-solving, and confidence in young minds. With the help of volunteers from local schools, the organization aims to reach 10,000 children by 2030.
“Our goal is to empower children with the knowledge and tools they need to explore STEM subjects,” said Saahithi Madhuvarsu. “It’s about creating opportunities for children to learn by doing, which makes a lasting impact.”
