San Ramon's Friday Foreign Film Series Returns

SAN RAMON, CA — San Ramon's popular Friday Foreign Film Series returns Friday with a screening of "Sweet Bean," a 2015 Japanese film about an elderly woman working at a dorayaki shop, a Japanese pastry. The film stars real-life grandmother and granddaughter Kirin Kiki and Kyara Uchida.

Screenings will run each Friday at 7 p.m. and the Front Row Theatre until March 7. The schedule is as follows:

• Feb. 21: "Monsoon Wedding." India, 2001. Rated R.
• Feb. 28: "Hive." Kosovo, 2021. Rated R.
• March 7: "The Farewell." China, 2019. Rated PG.
