San Ramon's 'Teen Talent' Have A Chance At $1K Scholarship

Scholarships up to $1,000 will be given to the top three finalists. Here's how you can enter.

SAN RAMON, CA — San Ramon teens with a special talent can enter into this year's Teen Talent Showcase for a chance at receiving a scholarship.

Youth can upload a clip of their talent online by Jan. 7.

The contest is run by charity A Brighter Day for youth in Danville, Dublin, Lafayette, Pleasanton and San Ramon. The nonprofit seeks to combat stress and depression in young adults and teens.

The first-place winner will get a $1,000 scholarship plus $100 for school supplies, while the second-place winner will get a $500 scholarship and the third-place winner gets a $250 scholarship. All finalists will receive a plaque.

Enter by uploading a video no longer than three minutes to the Teen Talent Showcase website and filling out a form. Videos will be uploaded to a YouTube channel for the contest and each like counts as a vote.

Five of the highest like-getters and five contestants chosen by judges will advance to the finale. Contestants will then resubmit a video and a panel of judges will choose the winner.

Live YouTube shows will take place each month.
