Special Olympics Torch Passes Through San Ramon
San Ramon police officers brought the Special Olympics Flame of Hope from their headquarters into Dublin.

SAN RAMON, CA — Members of the San Ramon Police Department and community carried the Special Olympics Torch through town Thursday as it made its way through the Tri-Valley en route to the Special Olympics Northern California Summer Games at Santa Clara University.
Crews took the torch, officially known as the Special Olympics Flame of Hope, from the San Ramon Police Department headquarters at 2401 Crow Canyon Road to Shannon Park in Dublin, where it was handed to Alameda County’s Sheriff’s Deputies. It passed by the Dublin Civic Center, and through downtown Pleasanton and Livermore, to cheering crowds. The run helps raise money and awareness for the special Olympic games.
The flame arrives Friday at the Special Olympics Northern California Summer Games at Santa Clara University. From June 28-30, athletes from around the world will compete in swimming, track, bocce, and tennis. See here for more information.
