No Evidence Of Credible San Ramon School Threats Amid U.S. Trend

SAN RAMON, CA — The San Ramon Valley Unified School District said there were no credible threats against San Ramon schools amid a nationwide social media trend that threatened violence at schools Friday.
The district said in an open letter that it was working with San Ramon police, Danville police and the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office. Police will ramp up their presence at local schools Friday.
"Our schools will be open and will stay vigilant and take additional safety precautions," the district said .

The trend originated on video-sharing app TikTok, which is particularly popular among youth. An image containing an anonymous, vague threat of gun violence was widely circulated.
Various iterations of the post have apparently been shared and some officials say the post was intended as a way to skip school.
