SRVUSD Science Olympiad Hosting 4 Info Nights Next Week
Learn more about the Science Olympiad, a STEM competition for SRVUSD 4th and 5th graders hosted each March.
SAN RAMON, CA — The San Ramon Valley Science Olympiad, a student-led organization that holds an annual science competition for SRVUSD 4th and 5th graders, is hosting three information sessions next week.
The annual competition in March features three different events that work to build teamwork, leadership, and skills aligned with Common Core and Next Generation Science.
Students from the same school work in teams of six on each of the following:
- Build Events, in which students work in teams of six to create different contraptions that are tested during the Olympiad.
- Theory Events, in which students’ critical thinking skills are tested
- Instant Challenges, in which teams work together to create an on-the-spot device to solve a specific task.

- Monday, Oct. 6 from 6-7 p.m. at Bella Vista Elementary School
- Wednesday, Oct. 8 from 6-7 p.m. at Bollinger Canyon Elementary School
- Friday, Oct. 10 from 6-7 p.m. at Montair Elementary School or Country Club Elementary School
- Sunday, Oct. 12 online
