SWAT Team Called After Man Threatens To Kill Wife, Barricades Self In Home: Police
The 60-year-old was taken into custody and booked on suspicion of terrorist threats, police said.
SAN RAMON, CA — A man threatened to kill his wife and barricaded himself in his home Friday in San Ramon, police said.
Brian Richard Smith, 60, was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on suspicion of terrorist threats and exhibiting a gun in a threatening manner, according to police.
Law enforcement shortly before 12:30 p.m. Friday went to the scene in the 2100 block of Canyon Lakes Drive in response to a man with a gun who was inside his residence and threatening to kill his wife, police said.

Authorities safely evacuated the victim and tried unsuccessfully to contact Smith by phone, according to police, who said Canyon Lakes Drive was closed and residents were evacuated.
The Central County SWAT team responded and ordered Smith out of the home, police said. He complied about 30 minutes later and was taken into custody, according to police, who said 11 guns were seized from the residence.

No one was hurt and the street reopened around 7 p.m., police said.
