Tri-Valley Soccer Club Boys U17 Advance to National Championships

Tri-Valley Real beat a Sacramento-based team to advance to the national championships.

San Ramon based Tri-Valley Soccer Club's U17 Real Boys team have qualified for the US Club Soccer National Championship in Chicago July 27 – 30.

The TVSC Real reached the National Championship by winning the US Club SoccerWest Regional Premier Championship in Turlock, CA June 16-19.

The Tri-Valley Real's players are drawn from across the Tri-Valley area: Livermore, Pleasanton, San Ramon, Danville and Alamo are all represented on the team roster.

Real's tournament started slowly with a 2-2 tie against San Francisco's Seals FC. Realdominated the game, hitting the bar and post repeatedly but could not force the ballacross the line for a third goal.

An explosion of goals came in the second game against the Merced Pumas. By the final whistle, the Tri Valley boys were comfortably in front and finished 7-2 winners.

The tournament's third game found Real in a must win game against Oakland Oaks Soccer Club. Fighting for a place in the championship game inspired Real, theyfinished with a convincing 3-1 victory.

The regional championship game featured the Tri-Valley Real team against Sacramento's Barcelona squad. The exciting and highly tactical encounter went all the way through extra time at 0-0 to penalty kicks. It was not until the seventh penalty kick that Real claimed its prize, setting off a wild celebration on the field amongst playersand fans.

The team will be led to Chicago by TVSC Coach Terry Wilson (ex-English PremierLeague player and Scotland international) and Assistant Coach Deane Lamont.
