2 Suffer Major Injuries In Highway 9 Head-On Crash In Santa Cruz County
Two Lexuses crashed into each other Tuesday.
SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — Two drivers suffered major injuries in a head-on collision between their vehicles on state Highway 9 in the Ben Lomond area of Santa Cruz County on Tuesday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol
The crash was reported around 3:40 p.m. on Highway 9 south of California Drive.
Investigators determined a 66-year-old Boulder Creek woman was driving a white 2008 Lexus north and a 46-year-old Felton man was driving a black 2007 Lexus south on the highway when they collided head-on, CHP officials said.

Both drivers were taken to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center by ambulance to be treated for their injuries and an update on their condition was not immediately available Wednesday.
The cause of the collision is under investigation but CHP officials said impairment is not believed to be a factor and both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
