Voting gets underway on Wednesday, March 21 to select the top five bands who will go on to compete in the Boardwalk’s first ever Battle of the Bands. Voting opens on the Boardwalk’s Facebook page at 8:00am on March 21, and ends at 11:59pm on March 23.
Sixty bands from all around the Bay Area, including 8 local bands, are entered in the contest. Fans will be able to vote once for their favorite band. The five bands with the most votes will then advance to the Boardwalk’s first ever Battle of the Bands on April 5. The competition will be held on a beach stage during Comcast Spring Break at the Boardwalk. The winning band will take home $1,000 cash.
The Battle
Each band will be scheduled to perform a three-song set on April 5, 2012 between 1pm and 6pm on the Boardwalk’s Spring Break stage. A panel of judges consisting of five industry professionals will rate each of the bands based on their performance.
