Body Found At Santa Cruz Beach
A body was found at a Santa Cruz beach Friday afternoon, according to authorities.
SANTA CRUZ, CA — A body was found Friday afternoon at Santa Cruz's Its Beach, four days after a swimmer went missing after jumping off a nearby cliff, police said.
The body was discovered about 2:13 p.m., police said. The person's identity is pending verification by the Santa Cruz County Coroner.
Two people jumped off a cliff in the 700 block of West Cliff Drive on Monday afternoon and struggled to get back, the Santa Cruz Fire Department said on social media.

"One subject was able to self-extricate, and the other possibly submerged," the fire department said.
Personnel from the state parks office, Harbor Patrol, U.S. Coast Guard and Santa Cruz Police Department responded.

Specialized search patterns were used in the area where the victim was last seen, along with drones, according to the fire department.
"After over an hour of an extensive search, it was determined to conclude the search from shore-based resources," the department said. "Coast Guard units remained on scene to search the area with both aircraft and a vessel."
