Dogs Rescued From Burning Garage In Santa Cruz County

Fire crews from multiple departments responded to a structure fire in Santa Cruz County on Friday night and rescued several dogs.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY — Fire crews from multiple departments responded to a structure fire in Santa Cruz County on Friday night and rescued several dogs.

The fire was reported in the 700 block of Summit Road in the unincorporated area of Pajaro Valley at about 8:20 p.m.

Firefighters from the Pajaro Valley Fire Protection District, Cal Fire, the Santa Cruz County Fire Department, and Central Fire District of Santa Cruz County responded and took over from neighbors who had already started putting out the exterior of the fire.

The fire was contained to the residence's garage and was extinguished by about 10:30 p.m., according to the Santa Cruz County Fire Department.

Several dogs were rescued from the home, according to the Pajaro Valley Fire Protection District.
