
Over the years Cabrillo College's music program has graduated alumni who have played with Frank Sinatra; Tony Bennet; Dizzy Gillespie; Woody Herman; Stan Kenton; Freddie Hubbard; Terrance Blanchard; Wynton Marsalis; Michael Stern. But these Cabrillo alums have also played with Ray Charles, the SF Symphony, The Temptations, The O’Jays, Weird Al Yankovick; Hall & Oates, Darius Rucker (Hootie & The Blowfish), The Four Tops and Maceo Parker.
Some of the best come back in a big band for two shows tonight at 7 and 9 p.m.
The mastermind to this sonic tour de force was Lile Cruse who founded the internationally renowned jazz program at Cabrillo College in 1970.
