Woman Rescued Hundreds Of Feet Downhill In CZU Burn Scar: Photos
She was hundreds of feet down a hillside when rescuers found her, the sheriff's office said.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office said its search and rescue team found on Monday a missing woman, located hundreds of feet down a hillside in the CZU fire burn-scar area.
The sheriff's office released Tuesday new details about a missing person case announced earlier this week. She was reported missing after she was last seen Sunday at her home on Last Chance Road in North County.
Search and rescue teams combed through rough terrain for hours until the woman was located down the steep hillside, the sheriff's office said. She was unable to stand on her own and the team called for a helicopter, which was unable to fly in difficult weather conditions.

Crews ended up hiking down to the woman and helped her cross a creek and hike the hillside before carrying her to an all-terrain vehicle, the sheriff's office said.
The rescue was a multi-agency effort. California State Parks, Cal Fire and the California Rescue Dog Association pitched in.
