A Monterey Bay program that buys seafood from local boats and donates it to food relief groups is helping feed hungry neighbors across the bay, showing how regional partnerships can bolster efforts here at home.

• Silver Alert issued for missing woman in Monterey and Santa Cruz counties (ksbw.com) — A statewide Silver Alert now includes Santa Cruz County as authorities search for 82-year-old Karin Godfrey, a Gilroy woman last seen Friday evening in San Jose. She may be driving a brown 2003 Buick LeSabre with California plate 5GIN928, and residents here are urged to call 911 immediately if they spot her or the vehicle.

• Lawsuits Challenge Trump Administration's Radical Homeless Policy Changes (streetsheet.org) — Santa Cruz County’s Housing for Health director warns local supportive housing could lose funding within months as lawsuits challenge the Trump administration’s major shift away from permanent housing toward shelters and sobriety-based programs. With a $1.2 million grant expiring in February and federal Continuum of Care dollars delayed until at least May, dozens of county residents could lose their homes while the court fight plays out.
