Santa Cruz Motorcyclist Injured In Crash

Police said the incident was reported at 8:09 p.m. in the intersection of Morrissey Boulevard and Melrose​.

SANTA CRUZ, CA -- A motorcyclist suffered major injuries Saturday night when she collided with a vehicle in Santa Cruz. Police said the incident was reported at 8:09 p.m. in the intersection of Morrissey Boulevard and Melrose.

The motorcyclist, a 48-year-old female from Santa Cruz, was transported to a local hospital where she is receiving care, police said.

The driver of the vehicle, a 49-year-old female from Santa Cruz, remained on scene and was cooperative during the investigation, police said.

Police said intoxication does not appear to be a factor in the collision.

The collision is currently being investigated by the Santa Cruz Police Department Traffic Investigators.

Northbound Morrissey Boulevard from Soquel Avenue to Hammond has been closed during the course of investigation.
