Slippery Santa Cruz Road Conditions Likely Continue Through Saturday
The sun could make an appearance Friday but rain is expected to come back by the evening.
SANTA CRUZ, CA — It was a slippery day in Santa Cruz Thursday as it rained on and off and the National Weather Service predicts those conditions to stay the same for a couple of days.
People in Santa Cruz posted pictures and videos on social media of the wet road conditions. UC Santa Cruz Police shared this post of a car in a ditch reminding people to drive safely.
Rainfall totals for the next couple of days are not expected to be drastically high but light rain is likely to continue until Saturday night, the NWS said.

Thursday night’s forecast calls for a 60 percent chance of rain before 11 p.m. Expect a cooler night with a temperature of 44 degrees and winds up to 11 miles per hour.
Friday could see some sun with temperatures near 64 before the rain returns in the evening. The NWS predicts an 80 percent chance of rain Friday night.

Rain is likely before 11 a.m. Saturday with a 70 percent chance during the day and winds possibly getting to 29 miles per hour.
