Residential Fire Contained In Santa Cruz

The fire was on Pacheco Avenue.

SANTA CRUZ, CA — There were no injuries following a residential fire in Santa Cruz Tuesday afternoon.

A garage attached to a home off Pacheco Avenue caught fire, fire officials said. One person was in the home and able to get out with the help of firefighters.

Fire officials estimate damages to total around $75,000. The cause was determined to be an accident but officials say the fire is still under investigation.

The blaze was reported at 132 Pacheco Avenue at 12:12 p.m., according to the PulsePoint app. That's off Soquel and Melrose Avenues.
