Verizon Customers on North Coast Can't Call 911
A Verizon spokeswoman says a portable generator will be brought in temporarily to help resolve the issue.

DAVENPORT-Suddenly, calling 911 during an emergency could be problematic for cell phone users on the North Coast
The Santa Cruz Sentinel is reporting residents of the small communities of Davenport, Newtown, Swanton and Bonny Doon have been without Verizon cell service since December 22.
The paper was able to reach Heidi Flato, a spokeswoman for Verizon. “We do have one cell site in Davenport that is out of service due to power issues,” she said.

Flato told the paper that access to the site is restricted, but technicians will use a portable generator to restore service as quickly as possible.
