Video: Newborn Sea Otter Snuggles With Mom in Monterey Bay

Just days after a wild sea otter gives birth to a pup at the Monterey Bay Aquarium's Great Tide Pool, video shows the two floating in bliss.

MONTEREY, CA- Just days after a wild sea otter gave birth to an adorable little pup, the Monterey Bay Aquarium has released video of the two snuggling in the water in the Aquarium’s Great Tide Pool.


In the video, you can see as the newborn pup tries to sleep while laying on top of her mom while the two float in the tide pool.

According to the Aquarium, the wild California sea otter sought refuge at the pool to give birth to the baby.

The grooming and fluffing of the newborn’s fur helps the new pup float.

The aquarium says mom and pup are expected to stay in the area for a bit longer before heading back into the wild.
