SANTA CRUZ, CA — We all know student athletes who also bring their A-game to other parts of their lives.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. We’re working to let all your neighbors know the individual stories behind the leaderboard.

Why do you believe the star student athlete should be recognized?
He received a weighted GPA of 4.5, he plays the violin and practices Kung Fu. He had won the gold, silver and bronze medals at prior national Kung fu competitions. He has won medals at every wrestling event last year and will probably repeat that performance again this year. He is also very socially aware, and has gone to Club Dust for years, to help build houses for people living in poverty through a local church, Twin Lakes Church.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star student athlete?
He is a great human being. Thoughtful and kind, yet very sharp minded and dedicated to whatever he focuses his mind on.
