SANTA MONICA, CA — Grab a picnic blanket and get ready to bring the whole family over to Gandara Park for a free concert series in Santa Monica this fall.

Starting Sept. 4, local bands will take Santa Monica locals through "the arc of Americana music from its roots to modern forms," according to the city of Santa Monica. The second annual Americana in the Park series is a partnership between the city and McCabe's Guitar shop, which will also offer a pop-up guitar shop.

Food trucks will stop at the park for the events, but residents are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets.
