2.9 Earthquake Hits Santa Monica; Did You Feel It?

The quake was felt as far south as Marina del Rey.

Santa Monica, CA — A 2.9-magnitude earthquake struck near Santa Monica on Thursday afternoon, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The temblor's epicenter was about bout three miles southwest of Santa Monica, according to USGS.

The quake, which hit at 6:45 p.m., follows a series of earthquakes hitting the Southern California region this month. A magnitude 5.2 earthquake struck Borrego Springs near the San Diego border earlier this month, which had nearly three dozens aftershocks.

On Tuesday a 3.9 earthquake struck in Brawley in the Imperial Valley.

No injuries or damages were reported in this quake.
