Firefighters Knock Down Structure Fire In Santa Monica

Firefighters battled a blaze in the Ocean Park neighborhood in Santa Monica, officials said.

SANTA MONICA, CA — Firefighters knocked down a structure fire in about 30 minutes in Santa Monica Tuesday night, officials said.

The fire was reported in the Ocean Park neighborhood about 6:39 p.m. in the 3100 block of 5th Street, near Marine Street, according to the Santa Monica Police Department.

The area was cleared shortly before 7 p.m., officials said.

It's unclear how the fire started.

"Avoid the area, possible delays, hazards," fire officials said.
