Here's how to recycle your Christmas tree.

SANTA MONICA, CA — Now that the holidays have passed, Santa Monica residents are encouraged to recycle their Christmas trees.
From now until Jan. 26, you can help recycle your tree and prevent fire hazards.
"Place bare trees free of stand, decorations, & tinsels – curbside for pick up," city officials said via Twitter.

People are urged not to drop off trees at local parks.
