Suspicious Package 'Not A Threat' In Santa Monica

Santa Monica police investigated a suspicious package and said it was "not a threat to the public."

SANTA MONICA, CA — Police investigated a suspicious package Tuesday evening, shutting down Wilshire Boulevard and snarling traffic, until they deemed the package was "not a threat to the public."

The incident was in the 1900 block of Wilshire Boulevard in Santa Monica.

Metro bus lines 2, 20 and 720 were detouring via Santa Monica Boulevard between 17th Street and 23rd Street due to the police activity, the agency tweeted.
