Updated: Hit-and-Run Driver Returns, Then Leaves Again
Motorist hit woman, who died at scene in Sherman Oaks. Police looking for a sedan, possibly maroon in color, with heavy damage.

Police were searching Sunday for the hit-and-run driver who struck and killed a 19 year-old woman crossing a street in Sherman Oaks, and then returned to the location to take a look at the woman before fleeing the scene.
The victim was with a male friend attempting to the cross the street in the area of Moorpark Street and Matilija Avenue at 2:15 a.m. when she was struck by the motorist, possibly driving a maroon sedan with heavy front end damage, Officer William Wood of the LAPD’s Valley Traffic Division said.

The woman died at the scene, but her male friend was not injured, Wood said.
LAPD Sgt. David Delgado told Fox News the victim was with her boyfriend and the couple had just been dropped off by a car moments before she was hit and killed. Delgado said the woman was steps behind her boyfriend as they crossed the street.

Her name was withheld pending notification of kin.
According to the officer, witnesses said the motorist returned to the scene to take a look at the woman, before driving away west on Moorpark Street.
