Pedestrian Struck and Killed By Train in San Fernando Valley

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles Fire Dept.

SAN FERNANDO VALLEY -- A pedestrian was struck and killed by a train in Van Nuys, authorities said Friday.

Firefighters responded at 10:20 p.m. Thursday to the 7700 block of Van Nuys Boulevard, north of Saticoy Street and near the Van Nuys train station, and located the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Amy Bastman of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The age and gender of the victim was not disclosed.
