Sherman Oaks Hospital Earns The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval

From Sherman Oaks Hospital: The Center for Reconstruction and Wound Healing at Sherman Oaks Hospital -- an outpatient, hospital-based program that specializes in the treatment of chronic or non- healing wounds -- today announced that it has earned The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval ® for Wound Care Management Certification. Obtaining this certification reflects the hospital’s commitment of supporting the community with the most advanced healing techniques that aid and accelerate the healing process of problem wounds.

The Center for Reconstruction and Wound Healing at Sherman Oaks Hospital is one of 33 wound care clinics in the country, fourth in California, and the first in Los Angeles to have met The Joint Commission’s stringent standards and clinical practice guidelines for wound care and receive the Disease- Specific Care certification.

To receive the Disease-Specific Care certification, The Center for Reconstruction and Wound Healing at Sherman Oaks Hospital successfully demonstrated compliance in the following three core areas:

• Follow nationally accepted standard of care
• Use of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines to manage and optimize care
• Have an approach to use performance measurements to improve patient care
