Z Gallerie Kicks Off Sherman Oaks Store Closing Sale Amid Bankruptcy

The furniture chain is closing its 21 stores nationwide, starting with markdowns of up to 40 percent.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Furniture chain Z Gallerie began store closing sales this week at all 21 locations nationwide including Southern California stores in Sherman Oaks at the Westfield Fashion Square, Costa Mesa, Encinitas, and Corona.

The closures are part of the company's bankruptcy filing. The company will immediately begin marking down prices starting with discounts of up to 40 percent, the company announced this week. The discounts will apply across all in-store merchandise, including furniture, sofas, cabinets lighting fixtures, mirrors, wall-mounted art, frames, rugs, curtains, window panels, bedding, decorative pillows, bath towels and rugs.

"This is a unique opportunity to buy high-end, quality home décor at deeply discounted prices," said Tim Shilling, executive vice president of B. Riley Retail Solutions, the retail consultant for Z Gallerie's parent company, DirectBuy Home Improvement, Inc." We encourage shoppers to visit their nearest store before merchandise sells out. This sale will be available for a limited time only."

No returns will be allowed on purchases made during this sale event. Z Gallerie gift cards may be used until Nov. 15.

Additionally, in California, a store in Roseville near Sacramento will also close. The chain has stores in nine states, all of which are slated for closure.

Z Gallerie's closure is the latest among several national brands to fold or close locations among bankruptcy filings this year including Bed Bath And Beyond, Buy Buy Baby, and Rite Aid.
