At 8:15am, a vehicle travelling south on Baldwin Avenue, stopped for the stop sign at Orange Grove Avenue, but then proceeded into the intersection before it was clear. A minor traffic collision occurred with no injuries reported.

At 2:15pm, a resident received a call from a Bank of America branch in Arcadia, informing her that an individual was fraudulently attempting to cash a check against her grandfather’s account. Further investigation revealed that there additional fraud on this account took place the preceding day. As the victim was still in possession of the check numbers being passed, it is apparent that the suspect(s) had obtained the account information of the victim and created fraudulent documents using his account information.

Overnight, an unknown suspect entered an unlocked vehicle that was parked in a carport in the 500 block of West Sierra Madre Boulevard. The suspect removed fishing gear and a wallet from the passenger compartment and fled without being seen. Officers obtained print lifts from the vehicle and an investigation is in progress.

An officer observed a vehicle fail to stop for the posted stop sign at Orange Grove Avenue and Baldwin Avenue and initiated a traffic stop. The officer’s investigation revealed that the driver had been drinking and further tests were conducted. The driver (male 57 years of age) was subsequently arrested for DUI.
